Discussion Panel 3. Reflection of the students on the learning process and on themselves as apprentices

The focus of this discussion panel is the students´ reflection on their learning processes and on themselves as learners. The various strategies that teachers put in place to promote these reflection processes have the potential to contribute to students assigning a sense and a personal value to their learning at least in four ways. More specifically, through this reflection students can: 1) identify, elaborate and re-construct their own interests and learning objectives; 2) identify and connect learning experiences that took place at different times and contexts (school and non-school); 3) make conscious and informed decisions about what, how, when, where, or with whom you want to learn; and 4) establish links between their past, present and future learning experiences, which contributes to the reconstruction of their learners identities.
